As of the end of 2008, the number of medical device enterprises registered in WGO FTZ reached 209. The import vol- ume reached $500 million USD, amount- ing to 51.41% of the total import volume in Shanghai. Additionally, the number of companies focused on medicine equaled 141. At the end of 2008, the import volume of these companies reached $1.2 billion USD, amounting to 65.16% of the total volume in this area of Shanghai.
